Dragon Ascension | Live Art Night

In honor of the Year of Dragon, The Shops at Skyview invites the community to celebrate Lunar New Year with the
Live Art night!  This year, experience the magic as artist Lee Hyun Joon and local art students from Francis Lewis High School collaborate on the creation of the large-scale “Dragon Ascension” mural and art installation on Thursday, February 8. From 6pm-8pm, guests will be greeted with a live DJ, raffles, giveaways and complimentary lantern painting kits while watching Lee Hyun Joon’s artistic vision come to life from start to finish.

“My inspiration for ‘Dragon Ascension’ came from my own experience as an immigrant coming to America. This piece carries rich and symbolic significance, with an overarching theme of the introduction of the Eastern dragon into the Western landscape. This 30 foot long installation, full of textures reminiscent of a dragon and elements that nod to its own fantastic journey to places unknown” – Artist Lee Hyun Joon
